April 2010 Wrap-Up

by Kay Lynn

 Windshield crack

April was a busy month as a I had a big project at work.  Because of my vacation the due date became “before you leave”.   With the help of my co-workers we met the deadline but worked more hours than typical including weekends.

This was on top of the usual pre-vacation activity which includes grooming appointments, pet planning, and packing.  I’m one of those people who packs a week in advance and this time it was right up to the day.  Somehow, we made it.

Budget and Spending

We came back from vacation without any new bills.  In fact I had half my spending money left (just couldn’t find anything I wanted to spend it on).  It’s a great feeling.

The only unplanned expense was replacing a cracked windshield in my car.  It went into the car wash with a decent crack, but was still drivable.  It came out with a crack across the whole window and replacement couldn’t be put off any longer.  This cost us $249 which came from the car repair sinking fund.

Great news on the traffic…. Must also be an awesome feeling to have holiday money left over! Can’t say that has ever happened to me!!

It is good to know I can use the leftover money for my next trip which is to a blogging summit in July.

You couldn’t find anything to buy?? I don’t think I’d have that problem. =) That’s why I give myself a tight budget.

Sad, but true. I set aside a chunk of it for my summer blog conference trips so will put it to good use.
