When taking a look at my numbers for August, it came to my attention that I never did a wrap-up for July so this one will cover two months in terms of stats.
Can you believe this is the last weekend of what we refer to as summer? I know the official end is later in the month but culturally this is it. What I did on my summer vacation was attend my first (and second) blogging conference.
They were both extremely different experiences and very valuable. The best part is that I did adjust my budget in advance to pay for both trips so we’re good in terms of finances. However, I plan to work hard at sponsors for the next one.
Blog News
I’ve recently added a couponing tab on the navigation bar which will be a quick reference to all coupon related posts. It also will have different ads on the sidebars related to coupons and deals. You can also find the latest giveaway being hosted here under the new Giveaway tab.
Visits and page views were both up 25% in August compared to June. I think a lot of that growth is from exposure to other bloggers via conferences and participation on the Yakezie and Inexpensively teams. I don’t expect this much of an increase every 2 months, but it sure is nice!
Of course visitors make it to bucksomeboomer.com from other blogs and here are the top ten referrers during July-August:
1. Wise Bread
2. GraceFUL Retirement
3. Girl With the Red Balloon
4. Invest it Wisely
5. Funny About Money
6. The Frugal Girl
7. Grocery Coupon Guide
8. Frugal Hacks
9. Credit Card Chaser
10. No More Spending
I’ve enjoyed reading how some of my peers spent their summer via blog posts and want to hear from you. What was the highlight of your summer?

That’s great growth Kay Lynn; it’s great to see your hard work paying off.
Glad I could send some readers your way 🙂
Laura, I appreciate the traffic. Thank you again. It is rewarding to see the numbers grow and is part of the motivation to continue writing.
It’s great to hear that those conferences paid off, not only in terms of learning but also in your traffic growth. I seem to go through bursts about once every three months then stagnate. Lately, I’ve been trying not to focus too much on my traffic because it can become an obsession!
Little House, it can defiinitely become an obsession. I’m not obsessed with traffic but subscribers, LOL! I only check traffic once a week but subscribers I am checking it daily which is crazy with feedburner. It’s so erratic.
Hah. Summer doesn’t end in Arizona until at least mid-October. I’m hoping to be able to attend the BlogHer conference next year, are you planning to go again?
I am definitely planning to attend as it’s in my home town. It would be great to meet you and I hope you come!
wow- 25% increase in the past two months- that’s great!
I agree with Little House in that it’s easy to get obsessed about traffic- I find myself obsessively compulsively checking my stats often. I definitely need to stop this time-suck habit of mine.
Young and Thrifty, it’s gotten much flatter the past couple of weeks so growth will be small probably when I take a look at it next month. Those 250 blog cards I gave out worked!
