Our Christmas tree is not one of those color coordinated trees that take your breath away. Instead it has ornaments that have been gradually collected over 30 years. Part of the tree decorating activity is remembering the origin of each ornament and enjoying the memory.
The ornament in this picture is one my grandmother made for me. The crocheted wreath with sparkles glued on is not elaborate or fancy but I love it because she gave it to me.
My grandma passed away 11 years ago. This ornament reminds me of her love and is an opportunity to reminisce about her with my husband, kids and now grandkids.
Do you have homemade or sentimental ornaments on your tree?
Thanks to Family Balance Sheet for inspiring me to share one of our ornament stories. You’ll have to wait until next year for another one.

What a lovely story, your grandmother must have been very special. Thanks for sharing. I should choose a favorite ornament myself. Merry Christmas to you and yours! 🙂
Thanks, for the comment. She was special to me and I think I was to her. It’s amazing how a little item of no monetary value can be so valuable personally.
