Fighting hunger is one of my personal passions which I hope to be able to do more about once retired. We can all help now though.
Tomorrow, May 8th, is the annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive and letter carriers all over the U.S. are ready to pick up your donation. No matter your budget, if you have enough food try to find some to share with others less fortunate.
Due to the economy donations are needed more than ever. Please join me in setting out a bag with your mail for Saturday’s pickup.

I’ve got my bag ready to go.
One funny thing, though. My son-in-law, who, with his two young children, lives with me, gets food boxes. He gave me a bunch of canned items that they won’t be using.
D’ya suppose there are some cans that just float forever through food pantrys to families to back again?

Haha. There probably are some items that no one wants so they’re recycled (kind of like fruitcake?). Eventually they expire and someone has to throw it away.
It’s mine as well! =) We donate to the local food pantry every month.
Wow — that’s so nice JM. 🙂
Jersey Mom, your monthly donations are an inspiration. Our church is making it easy this year by collecting right at services each week.
Wow — that’s so nice. I would have loved to contribute but this drive is only for the United States… wish we had one in India as well.
It’s people like you who help spread the word thus helping the cause really well. Keep up the good work 🙂
Happy SITS sharefest!! love the blog!
