Nashville (and Blissdom) Here I Come

by Kay Lynn

Opryland HotelAs these words are being published, I am making my way to the Blissdom Conference at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville, TN.   Despite the very cold weather they are having, I’m really looking forward to getting there.

This is my first time attending Blissdom so I belong to the newbie community.  The other group I’ll be hanging with is the frugal community and I may check out the entrepreneurs.

Pre Conference Goodies

My excitement really picked up last week with the arrival of a pre-conference package to help prepare attendees.  It contained gifts from a few of the sponsors and a conference planning booklet.  ConAgra Foods sent a box of their new Orville Redenbacher pop-up bowls.  One bag to microwave pop and serve the popcorn.

They also sent a recipe binder titled “ready set eat” with quick meal recipes and a $10 prepaid Visa card to buy ingredients for a meal.

Freschetta sent a nifty pizza cutter and a coupon for a free pizza.  I really hope my husband doesn’t use it when I’m gone.

The box also included an adorable recordable storybook from Hallmark.  This can be used to comfort children  when moms are away.  Mine will be used as a gift for my grandson.  These were all thoughtful gifts.

Making Plans

Outside of conference activities, several of us from the Inexpensively team are trying to figure out when to meet.  I will also hunt down J. Money from Budgets are Sexy who really shouldn’t be hard to find what with a mohawk and all.

There are a couple of companies that I will get together with at the conference as well.  Otherwise, I plan to absorb as much as possible and have fun!

I’m taking two cameras (video and point and shoot) and a netbook to document as much as possible.   Let me know if there’s anything you want to know about the conference or questions I should ask other bloggers.

Have a great time Kay Lynn…Nashville is always somewhere I’d like to go…I’d like to attend a blogging conference too, but it’s a little far for me to travel 🙂

Laura, you’ll have to combine a trip to the states with a blogging conference. Want to come to San Diego in August for BlogHer? I didn’t see anything in Nashville outside the hotel so I’ll have to visit the city again!

Have a fantastic time, and I hope the weather is perfect. A getaway sounds wonderful!

Thanks, Kris. The weather was fine (as far as I know). Unfortunately, the bad weather in the Northeast kept some people from making the conference. How sad!
