My husband hates to use my key ring because it’s loaded with cards for the various stores we patronize. If I didn’t keep my Ace Hardware card on my keyring how would I get points on the rare occasion we shop there?
This family dilemma is solved thanks to Cardmobili. It’s a free mobile app available for my Android phone as well as iPhone, Windows Mobile, Blackberry and other JAVA phones. (There is a 4 digit optional PIN feature for the iPhone and JAVA app.)
I downloaded the app from the Market and then signed up at Cardmobili. After verifying the registration it’s time to enter your various rewards cards. Since I travel a lot for work it was great that many frequent traveler programs are participating including airlines, car rental agencies and hotels.
Then I registered grocery store, hardware and other retail cards. At the store you can show the card’s barcode or number to get credit for the transaction. A feature I really like is the ability to share cards with other family members so we’re accruing on the same account. Now if I can get my husband to use a smarter phone.
My key ring feels a lot lighter these days thanks to Cardmobili.

Might have to try this. Is there much set up time involved? Curious, are most of the stores able to read the bar code from your phone? I know, lots of questions…
You can do it in batches. I did my travel cards at one sitting and grocery stores at another, etc. I haven’t tried it at many stores yet but will do a follow-up after I use it a while.
Love, love, love this! I’ve been waiting for just such an ap. I’m so happy you’ve brought it to my attention. I’m downloading it now!
Let me know how you like it. I think it will definitely help me get credit when I don’t have the right card with me.
That’s awesome! I hate carrying all those cards in my wallet. I recently got an iPod Touch, so I’ll have to download this app!
Mrs. Money, let me know how you like it on the iPod. I have a Droid so it’s slightly different.
Okay, got all my cards loaded into the iPhone app & I am psyched to use it! Thanks again!
