2010 is down to the last quarter with all the holiday hoopla and financial pressures. We’ll definitely be discussing them here so stay tuned over the next few weeks.
Budget Challenges
The big change in my budget this past month was an increase in groceries. The reason is that my oldest son moved back in with us due to marital problems. We’re glad to be able to help out while they figure out the future but he eats a lot!
We have turned one bedroom into an office but it does have a futon couch so he’s staying in that room. It is inconvenient for all of us but helping family out is important.
October will have a large expense due to my tooth abscess but I don’t have final numbers yet.
Blog Stats
Last month I reported a 25% increase in visitors and page views. They didn’t all stick around because the numbers are down in September. Visits were down 13% and page views were down 15%. This motivates me to work harder this month to try to get back up!
I appreciate all the referrals and it’s nearly 60% of my traffic. The top 10 referrers in September are:
1. Wise Bread
2. GraceFUL Retirement
3. Funny About Money
4. Girl With the Red Balloon
5. Out of Debt Again
6. Len Penzo Dot Com
7. Frugal Zeitgeist
8. No More Spending
9. Own the Dollar
10. Yakezie

My best month was also September – budget wise and traffic wise. October started not so well… Traffic died down, and the budget… oh well… there is always something new that needs to be paid.
Yeah, where is the traffic. It’s been slow this month as well.
September was good for me traffic wise too, but I am guessing I got a boost because of my Yakezie member post and the fact I was able to comment more since my kiddos went back to school.
I hope you are feeling better- take care of yourself!
I can see how that makes a difference. We watched our grandson last night and I didn’t get a minute to spend on the computer. It was go, go, go from the moment I got home until bedtime (yes, grandma was ready to sleep when he was!).
Hey there!
I do something similar on my blog once a month where I detail the top 10 referring sites/blogs that sent traffic my way. You can obtain the information easily from Google Analytics. Then, I share my post over at 3 Boys and a Dog in a link up. It is a Blogger Appreciation idea. A way to say thank you, but also a way to really take a look at how you are generating traffic from a referral stand point.
Here is where you can link up and share:

Hi Crystal, thanks for letting me know about that linkup. I think it’s important to thank people for sending readers your way and am glad we’re not the only ones!
