Weekend Scoop: Radio Star Edition

by Kay Lynn

Although I’m not a radio star, I recorded my first traditional media spot this week with a local radio personality Delana at KYMI.  It was a spot regarding our experiences with the Tempur-Cloud sleep system (which you know I love!).

We recorded about 6-7 different 30 second sessions and the entire process only took about 15 minutes.  I think I’m ready to try more traditional media.  Maybe the local television stations need a money-saving segment?

Before moving on to other topics, did you know this song by the Buggles was the first video played on MTV. Despite video and digital music, there’s still a place for Radio!

Around the Web

Daily deal sites like Groupon and Social Living have moved into the travel sector.  I discussed using group buying for vacation along with factors to consider at Couple Money this week.

What I’m Reading

Here are a few of my favorite articles this past week.  I hope you enjoy them as much as I.

There’s a lot of great advice on business meals in How to Ace Lunch Interviews at KrantCents.  Henry Ford and I share the same pet peeve!

Consumerism Commentary calls Steve Jobs: The Billionaire Next Door.  I have got to buy that biography; the man is fascinating!

In the retirement arena, this article by Personal Finance by the Book caught my eye. You’re never too old to plan for retirement.

Financial Samurai uses bar stool economics to show why a progressive tax is wrong.

What is the best day to sell your house?  Find out at Budgets are Sexy.

Kay Lynn,
How exciting that you are on the brink of becoming a radio star! Some day I will boast that “I knew you when.” Thanks too for the MTV trivia and for including me in “what you’re reading”.
