Get ready to celebrate as Bucksome Boomer turns two. There are many prizes and opportunities for entries. Details will be announced Friday in the kick-off article.
Yesterday, we managed to spend nearly $3,000 in a few hours. We bought a bedroom set to replace the 25 year old set in use now. We’re moving that one to my new guest room. It’s funny that we just bought our first (and probably last) bedroom set together after 16 years of marriage!
I also got a new cell phone. My Droid battery could barely make it through half a day without recharging and I have several trips coming up in the next three months.
I stayed with the Android OS and got a Droid Charge by Samsung. It’s 4G and I’m loving the speed. Two years ago I didn’t even have a smartphone and now I can’t imagine being without it.

Congratulations on two years!! That’s impressive, and it seems like you’re doing well.
As for spending $3,000 in a few hours… sometimes its scary how quick it is to spend something it took so long to save – but sometimes it’s worth it! Hopefully you found the perfect bedroom set.
Congrats on the two-year mark! Thanks again for promoting my give away and being one of the sponsors. I’ll be reciprocating soon. 😉
I am one without a smartphone–I just don’t want to! It seems like it would be convenient, but also a time waster. I like to keep things low-tech though generally (haha–I say that writing from my laptop, which is hooked up to wireless).
@Kellen, We really like the set we bought, but it is a little disconcerting how fast that money can go! My husband and I will probably have this set until the end…
@ Little House, You’re welcome and I appreciate your sponsorship as well!
@ Amanda, I actually thinks it saves time because I can read emails, blog posts, etc. on my phone when waiting for appointments, meetings, planes, etc.
