Weekend Scoop: The Rest of It Edition

by Kay Lynn

This morning I published the giveaway section of the round-up as a separate post.  I wanted to make sure you got it before some of the giveaways ended today.  Now for the rest!

Why am I behind?  Last weekend I was at BlogWorld and I’ve been trying to  catch up at home and on the blog ever since.  For some reason, it just exhausted me.  It would be so much easier of all conferences had the events in the same complex as the hotel.  However, I really enjoyed spending time with my online friends.

Here’s hoping for a more energetic week that you’ll see via great content here!

Around the Web

Here are my favorite articles from this week’s reading around the web.

Wealth Informatics discusses something most of us won’t admit in Am I Failing as an Entrepreneur.  I’m there with you, Suba.

Barbara Friedberg Personal Finance points out the down side of money related to Penn State.  What a terrible mess!

Everyday Tips and Thoughts gave me food for thought this week.  She asks if people focus on the wrong thing when they talk about the Duggars?

The holidays don’t have to mean going over budget.  Use this list of 100 frugal gifts from Bible Money Matters for the perfect gift.

Free from Broke talks about virtual credit card numbers with great timing before the holiday shopping frenzy season.

Last but not least is this video from Thousandaire on prenuptial agreements.

Carnivals and Round-Ups

Thank you to all the blogs that linked to Bucksome Boomer the past couple of weeks.  Let me know if I missed yours and I’ll make sure to include it next week.

Thanks for the link Kay Lynn.

So which did you prefer, Blog World or Fincon? Or is it apples and oranges?

Shannyn @FrugalBeautiful.com November 14, 2011 at 4:29 pm

So envious you were at BlogWorld! I bet it was awesome! I know after FINCON I was totally exhausted- excited but needing some time to let it all sink in before I was pumped to write again…it’ll come back to you, just take a quick rest! 🙂

Peter, you’re welcome!

Kris, I prefer FinCon. The problem with BlogWorld is it’s trying to meet the needs of too many people. There must have been a dozen tracks and the audience is bloggers, podcasters, video producers, etc.

Shannyn, what was awesome was the meetups. There were about 16-20 personal finance bloggers for dinner Thursday night. I got to meet 3 more yakezie there (Jackie from Money Crush, Buck from Buck Inspire and Neal from Wealth Pilgrim). I went to Pat Flynn’s meetup of Smart Passive Income readers which was pretty cool.
